Dan Judson

Candidate for Thames Valley School Trustee - Wards 7, 8, 9, 10, 13

Dear Voters,

I am ready to devote the time and energy that I know it will take to be an effective Trustee for you and your community. I am the father of two sons, one in grade 3 and one in grade 5 at Arthur Ford Public School. My experience chairing our school council has provided me with invaluable insights into our education system. These insights combined with what I have learned working with children and youth with disabilities for 20 years, have taught me how crucial it is to have parents involved in their child's education, both as an advocate and a partner in learning. We need to continually renew our vision of how families can impact our schools and the education of our children. This point alone has the potential to significantly improve student performance, and increase our EQAO scores.

My drive to run for the office of School Trustee is fueled by a lifelong passion to be part of a system that works to protect, nurture, and inspire children. I  have worked together with senior members of the school board staff and with trustees on a number of occasions. My experiences inspired me as I witnessed what could be accomplished by reasonable people who all have the well being of our students at heart. I am a very effective advocate with good speaking and debating skills. I will use those skills on behalf the children and families in Wards 7, 8, 9, 10, 13 as passionately as I would for my own children. In fact, I have been in many of the schools in our wards advocating for children with special needs.

I am not a politician by nature. My desire to serve as a Trustee is solely based on having the opportunity to positively influence the direction of our education system and the future or our children. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and for being interested in the position of School Trustee. It matters.
